IBM has released a preview of their new Web 2.0 Mashup kit.

IBM Mashup Starter Kit consists of two technologies: IBM Mashup Hub and QEDWiki. IBM Mashup Hub is a mashup server that stores information feeds (such as in RSS, ATOM, or XML formats) in order to enable reuse and collaboration. Mashup Hub can also merge, transform, filter, annotate, or publish information in new formats. From there, the newly-enhanced QEDWiki serves as the user interface and allows non-IT users to “mash” information from any data source in order to create a single view of disparate sets of information in minutes.

Alright, so most of us would put Adobe Kuler squarely in the designers column.  While the YUI Color picker we discussed yesterday is definitely a programmers widget.  Kuler is a webservice for building color schemes.

Kuler can be useful for more people than just designers.  The great scheme tools help facilitate the math when working on transitional effects or just filling in the gaps left in the design brief.  Besides, most of us have to switch hit as designers every now and then so a quick and dirty tool for building color schemes can come in handy.

Lastly, Kuler’s API’s could be invaluable to empowering users in your next project.  More on that will come soon.
